I had been in the market for a classic black pair of good quality sunglasses for a while when I saw these Persol 3380s on special for Valentine’s Day on Instagram. Without hesitation I did my sums and placed the order.
What followed was a series of unexpected good customer service interactions, starting from a thank you note, right down to quick door delivery in Cape Town.
The box was beautifully wrapped and came with a sweet complementary gift.
The sunglasses were immaculate, as expected. The quality is unmatched as Persol is a founding designer sunglass maker. The 3380s offer a classic dark full coverage silhouette. The purpose was for every day wear but this is definitely a statement piece that elevates any outfit.
My only irk is the case which started peeling after only two opens. It’s made of thin cheap leather-look PVC which contrasts the supreme build quality of the actual sunglasses. This is no fault of the seller, however.
The glasses are on the heavier side so may slide down the face with oil and sunscreen. I have ordered stick-on nose-pads which I hope will remedy this situation.
Overall, it’s been a five star experience. The customer service and engagement is always the majority of what makes a return customer. I cannot wait for my next pair!
